Who we are

We have created American History Through Our Eyes Podcast to share what we have learned by raising our voices and raising the voices of those communities who have helped shape the America we all live in today.

Tyana Carvalho

Tyana Carvalho is in the graduating Class of 2024 at Lowell High School in Lowell, Massachusetts. She was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts. She dreams of opening the eyes of others and improving the world around her. She enjoys spending time with her friends and watching T.V. when she's not working or caring for her baby brother. 

Alyssa Hamiter

Alyssa Hamiter is in the graduating Class of 2024 at Lowell High. She lives in Lowell, Massachusetts, a city full of diversity. She strives to be more hard-working and persevering in her everyday life. Alyssa wants to major in business and minor in performance arts. She enjoys reading and learning choreography.

Kaylee Keo

Kaylee Keo is a Lowell High School graduate from the class of 2024. She was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts. Kaylee Keo's passion for baking has inspired her to become a pastry chef since she was 12. Writing has always been her favorite subject in high school; she uses it as a diversion from everyday life. She likes to dance, draw, write, and style. At the end of the day, Kaylee's purpose is to be proud of where she is, even though it takes her to fall ten times to get up again on the eleventh. 

Emily LaBranche

Emily LaBranche is in the graduating Class of 2024 at Lowell High. She was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts but hopes to attend college in Florida. This is because she dreams of being an astronomer. She often says, "I want to discover, research, simply learn just as much as I can. Slowly, just maybe, with  new findings we can cause a ripple of change." She's adventurous and will always find something to keep her mind busy. That's probably why there are so many things she likes to do. Emily plays piano, loves to draw, and constantly goes out with friends. She hopes that through the constant movement of her life, she can cause constant change.  

Nila Rivera (They/Them)

Nila Rivera (They/Them) is a student at Lowell High School, Class of 2024. They work part-time as program staff at Coalition for a Better Acre (CBA). They were not Lowell born, but Lowell raised. They strive to educate themselves in all things involving civic rights and get their driver's licenses. Nila has a dream career of being an author. 

Amaya Sanchez

Amaya Sanchez is a student at Lowell High School in the class of 2024. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts but grew up in Lowell. She has plans for the future but does not like sharing her plans with others. She loves playing sports like Basketball and Lacrosse in her free time. She also loves music and practicing guitar. 

Xaiyena Xaykosy

Xaiyena Xaykosy is a student from Lowell High School, class of 2024. She was born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts. Xaiyena is focusing on her dreams of becoming a first-generation college graduate in her family. She has many hobbies and interests, like crocheting, painting, and gaming. She is very kind, caring, and compassionate to her companions.
